OctPoWriMo - Day 7 - Pantoum (Little Tea Cup)

So, I am picking my own prompt today, because LITTLE  TEA CUP!! Also, it was really warm and sunny today, and  my adventures included running, hiding rocks that other people have painted (Iz a new trend in the area, and Salvation Army shopping. I am feeling random tonight and want to get my poem in before midnight local time.

Writing Prompts: Going Too Far with a writing prompt

Little Tea Cup

It was a grand day for a tea party,
with the sun shining very bright.
The middle of October
and the leaves are raining down.

With the sun shining very bright,
I am racing laps around
and the leaves are raining down,
I don't feel the time pass me by.

I am racing laps around
and yet I am standing still--
I don't feel the time pass me by
when I hide the tea party rocks.

And yet I am standing still
for the moment looking around
when I hide the tea party rocks,
swallowing the whole of time.

For the moment, looking around,
a cup of tea set just for me.
Swallowing the whole of time
in the middle of the room.

A cup of tea set just for me
swallowing the whole of time
in the middle of the room,
and for a moment, looking around.

It is a extremely random poem tonight but I also had a headache in the later hours of the day and I took a nap. I am sure that some of this poem is part fever dream (or headache dream), but I miss writing pantoums. I figured my random day adventures might work well with this form.

So, Dear Readers, what have you experienced that have inspired your writing (poetry or otherwise), or what strange items has you found shopping at a Salvation Army store (or maybe yard sales and the like).

Leave me a comment in the comments below. And as for the weirdest thing I bought at a Salvo store, a stuffed stomach.

  1. Best yard sale find, a little smoking dragon that you can put incense inside of and smoke comes out of his nostrils. And he's a happy dragon! I enjoyed your lighthearted poetry, well done!

And Cindy, we seriously need to not wait until OctPoWriMo every year to hop over and say hello. =)

    Peace,
    Morgan

  2. I really enjoyed this one! Evoked the feeling of leaves swirling and settling in a brisk afternoon (even though that is not the words used here). My favorites

And I love Lucy - my Lionel is an orange kitty
