2016 is the year that brought back the Full House cast in a new show Fuller House.
Who'd have thunk it?!?! (Yeah, pulling out the 90's cliches)
Since acquiring Netflix I have noticed that they have been creating a whole slew of their own TV shows. Up to now I haven't jumped on that bandwagon, well until last weekend anyway.
See, I hear a lot, A LOT, about House of Cards and Black in the New Orange, but I haven't jumped into these shows. Maybe because I have too many shows in my queue,or it's not what I am into, maybe it never occurred to me to try it out. These are all excuses I have used, but then Netflix had to bring most of thecast of Full House, expect the Olsen Twins, into a new show focusing on DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie (now young women) raising three boys and a teenage girl (see the parallels coming now).
I really didn't know much about the show prior to watching it. I also didn't know if i could sit through it, after all I loved the original. How could the sequel show be any good? Sometimes when to go to revisit something from your youth it doesn't taste quite the same as what you remembered. I watched the first episode with some trepidation, only to be pleasantly surprised. There was a number of throwbacks from all of the classic one liners, from "How Rude" to "Have Mercy", and the obvious "Cut it Out". Believe it or not they are used infrequently and not to the detriment of the show. It would have been an easy thing to do to over use them. The characters of DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie are well portrayed and it seems that the actress didn't lose stride with returning to their character, and yet adding more depth to their grown up characters.
I will admit that the cameos sometimes felt forced, having Uncle Jesse forget his lucky guitar, Priscilla, or having Becky stick around to see to who got the flowers in the secret admirer episode. I hope they get a chance to ring Danny, Jesse, Joey, and Becky back for more episodes and not just one at a time, although the season finale was a nice touch having Jesse, Joey, and Becky. Overall, though it was fun to see the cast reunite and have some fun with the new stories.
It is a major cheese fest, but I enjoyed the original series which was just as cheesy with Danny's incessant cleaning that has been passed down to DJ and her son, Max.
If you want a fun watch, you should check it out, everything from Stephanie/Kimmy kiss to She Wolf Pack to Jesse ans Stephanie exchanging lines. And there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with hugging it out.
It is interesting to know that after this season, both of the Tanner girls will have appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Jodie Sweetin is set to dance for the 22nd season of the show. And Candace was on Season 18.
What is your favourite part of Full House, Dear Readers? Have you watched Fuller House yet? Will you? What are your thoughts on the show?

Random Geeky Stuff and Finally a Schedule
Somewhere over the week I caught the "Plague" that that was going around at work. Funny that it should hit right when the weekend starts. Irony? Maybe. Yesterday was the sore throat and tired feeling, and today seems to be the stuffy/running nose and more tiredness. This and the weather has flummoxed my weekend plans, but not one to give up I am taking this afternoon caught up on a few things at home, writing and blogging stuffs.
This is also a good time to let to know, Dear Readers that I am planning a blogging schedule. Finally! i have been thinking for years that I need a schedule to hold me accountable. After this summer, I have grown into my own dedication, but one can ALWAYS do better.
The Music Man has started. Seeing as I am stage managing this show, I have three days a week devoted to rehearsals, plus I am now down a vehicle as the spring in my front driver side strut is toast. The worst part is that even IF I fix it (at a cost of 722.00 cost ), there is a chance that with the rust on my van that one hit of a pot hole could junk my van for good. This van has brought me much luck and had MANY adventures...
Also, being under the weather I am loath to leave the house, so plans for this afternoon have been rearranged. Still planning on going to my weekly (most weeks) Who Night. As long as I am still feeling better that is.
Plus, I now have at least 4/5 hours to work on writing projects, and resting, should the nap attack occur.
Sheesh, that's a lot to soak in, Cindy. Sorry, Dear Readers. I meant for something more glorious for today's post and you get a longish thread about being sick, broken vehicles, etc.
I am hear to reveal my new blog schedule. I have missed writing here about things and stuff, so I am returning to regular postings and mixing it up a little too. As you probably know, I am involved in A Round of Words in 80 Days. A blog challenge that I post twice a week about my progress on my goals and writing plans for the future. I also write poetry and do the challenges OctPoWriMo and NaPoWriMo, these are monthly poetry challenges where yo write a poem a day (either free write or the provided daily prompt). I also do NaNoWriMo in November and #writestuff tweet chats on Tuesday nights. I am networking more, meeting new writers and colleagues. Lots of fun stuff, but sometimes I feel the hermit because of it. Does anyone else feel that way?
Also, I do theatre. LOTS and LOTS of theatre and I thus be busy until November 15th with the Music Man.
Instead of feeling weird about not sitting down to write, blog, or edit; I am going to make sure I schedule some time to devote to write on the days I can, this includes posting interesting blogs on Here, There Be a Writer. This is a little new for me so bear with me.
*Mondays: Music Man rehearsal 6-9 pm. Write for an hour after coming home.
*Tuesdays: Poetry Corner posts. Will post a recent or archival poem from my collection. I have a lot of poems. Also, spend time writing and editing. Tweet chat: #writestuff at 9 pm.
*Wednesdays: ROW80, WIPpet Wednesday, and WWW Wednesday. Write and Edit on current WIP and EIP projects.
*Thursdays: Music Man rehearsal 6-9 pm. Random flash fiction or blog about something after rehearsal.
*Fridays: Write for 30 minutes sometime before bed.
*Saturdays: Unplugged day, unless I choose to write or blog, edit, read. This is generally my hang out day, where I can go and do stuff with friends. Now that it is fall and th weather will start to change, I will have more days to inside and write, edit, read, etc.
*Sundays: ROW80 post. Music rehearsals in the afternoon. (not always needs as we rehearse just music on Sundays. Write and edit sometime during the day, as much as I can.
Okay, so that part is free and clear. Onto random blog about random fun things. I love a good trip down memory lane. So, in the search of things of my youth I happen upon this...

...It's a Zag the Zebra, circa 1987 (ish?). My mom sold a lot of Avon, and often I got a lot of bubble bath, skin-so-soft, pins with hidden doors with perfume in them, and toys. I think I got Zag when I was sick and home from school, or maybe a birthday. I really can't remember that detail. I just remember the fuzzy, stumpy legged rainbow zebra that was my favourite toy for years. Then like it happens Zag disappeared or became lost. I never forgot. But is conversations with the hubs about Avon memorabilia, Zag came up. To the Google I say, and poof, there was proof he existed and on eBay. Yes, you know the rest of then story. I now own a Zag the Rainbow Zebra. I do feel like a dork, but a happy dork!
Next...
Yes, Neil, thanks for hitting me in the wallet. I don't regret my choices, but sometimes my pocketbook begs to differ. Upside, I hadn't purchased much for my self in the last few week, so the Zag and the new edition of Neverwhere was totally worth it. I have already read Neverwhere, but now I can re-read it and enjoy it anew. I am a nerd!
Just like the nerdiness that allows me to go to Weird Al concerts, listen to Tardis sounds while I write. Go check out the 1 hour video of the interior Tardis Hum from the 9th and 10th Doctor's Tardis. It's really a good sound to write to and not creepy at all.
So, Dear Readers, what are some things that you geek out to? Things you like to reminisce about?

AROW80 Memorial Weekend Blog
It's Memorial Day weekend, and I have taken it off! I am out if town visiting my dad. It's been a weekend of reminiscing and relaxing. I got to stand on the shores of Lake Erie at Point Grommit (Officially Point Gratiot), see a white squirrel, and have a peanut butter banana milkshake and Sullivan's Charbroil.
I do some of my best thinking when standing on the beach. Point Grommit is one of those places where all you see is water when you look out at the lake. The sunshine glinting off the water with the breeze blowing steadily. It's a calm place. It's one I return to most times I return to Chautauqua County.
I wrote a scene about standing upon these shores. It just a great place to get inspired and also find beach glass, even though the beaches are still littered with dead fish, drift wood, and and winter trash. Despite the grubby attire, Grommit was a beautiful site.
David and I played upon the shores ans took pictures. It was grand fun. This is really what we do when not glued to our computers.
We have photos of White, Black, and Black and Red squirrels that will share next time.
Upon the less than happy news from Chautauqua County. This news has been going around the internet block, but I thought I would comment on it since I was going to be in Fredonia this weekend.
It's a harder trip to bear with the local factory that makes ketchup, salad dressing, and peanut butter; Carriage House (formerly Red Wing) having been bought out by ConAgra Foods. They are planning to shut the factory down sometime next year and the feel of my friends still in the area is anger, frustration, and sometimes defeat. I have friends that are planning on moving to Missouri after Carriage House closes. I can feel the change in Chautauqua County. While there is fights still going on the try to keep the factory open, there are those who are choosing to leave the area.
It's a rough world we live in. I can on;y wish my friends who choose to to leave the very best of luck and continue to make my life the best. It's a personal choice and in a world full of crazy corporations and bad news, sometimes you gotta make the tough choices and make yourself happy.
So, for me, I go to my happy places, Point Grommit, Russell Joy Park, and Sheridan Memorial Park. These are some of the happiest places of my youth. I have reclaimed my happy and currently watch Star Trek Into Darkness and blogging contently. It's true that I have not done any goals since Friday, but I still feel good.
I am starting fresh tomorrow, Dear Readers. I hope you all have an awesome Memorial Day, whether it is a picnic or just spending time with your family. What are your plans? I am returning to Corning and spending time with the kitties. I might grill up some burgers and maybe watch a bad movie or two.
Have a great Memorial Day, Dear Readers. I would love to share my scene that I wrote earlier in the week, inspired by Point Grommit, or at least part of it. Let me know what you think? Also,l go and visit the other ROW80-ers at the Blog Hop!!

I remember that afternoon, when the sky was a slate grey.
There were clouds, looking like cotton balls coated in grey paint and nary a
sight of blue. I was sad. It was colder, much colder than a May day should be.
My canvas shoes sunk into the sand and I can smell seaweed and rotting fish.
One step.
One step.
One step.
The shale rocks abounded, and there in my hand, I cup a good
sized rock. The edges feel sharp, but I am not really paying attention. I can
feel the air wash over my arm as I fling the piece of shale into the lake.
One Skip.
Two Skip.
Plop!
"Damn, I was hoping for a three bagger," I said to
the passing seagulls over head. Their calls echoed across the waves and the
wind. I look down to find another piece of shale. There are pieces of green and
blue beach glass sitting upon the sand like jewels. My hands scoop up a handful
of wet sand as I pull out the finely worn glass pieces, and dust off the sand.
It clings to my hand and I left patting my hands on my pants. I glance up at
the sky and the lake. The breeze has picked up. I came here to think. It always
was that way.
Another handful of sand and another green piece of beach
glass, into my pocket. I lean over to grab a piece of shale, determined to skip
this stone at least three times. My dad could skip three or four, sometimes
even five. Pulling back I let go.
One Skip.
Two Skip.
Plop!
"Should have known," I said to the lake. I started
walking along the shores of Lake Erie. Looking
down there's piles of seaweed, driftwood, and occasional dead fish. Standard. I
picked up a rock and lobbed it into the lake.
Plop!
I was thinking about her again. I looked down and found
another piece of shale; it was in my hands and flying across the air.
One skip.
I saw her face, there next to me, also skipping stones with
hair blowing around and laughing.
Two skip.
I loved her. Not just in that moment, but always. I turned
to her and kissed her on the lips.
Three skips!
The kiss. The kiss that never happened. At least it never
happened here, in this moment. I felt my lips, my tongue and the warmth flowing
down throughout my body.
Plop!
The real world came back. I was cold and shivering and
feeling very alone. I stared out into the expansive void of Lake
Erie, steel blue and slate grey in the sky. This place was
special. Not just because I came here with her, but because it was a beautiful
place to lose you mind in the water and waves.
Plop!
