OctPoWriMo Day 11: Ode to Mentors

Today's challenge inspired by Malala Yousafzai the co-winner of the 2014 Nobel Prize. I was struggling trying to find a poem with the topics today. So, I took Malala's work and my personal mentor's (James and Jane) and wrote an ode of sorts. Enjoy, Dear Readers!

Writing Prompts: Tenacious, Courageous, Vulnerable

Mentor's Ode

hose who have the courage
The Awesomist Revolution - James A. Owen
Those who are tenacious
will shine the brightest
in the heavens.
Burning brightly in the dark
where others are sheltered.
They them-self were once
vulnerable
challenged
changed
not to be brought down,
only stronger
courageous
true.
Those of the reasons
anyone should have
to sojourn on.
The mentor has done it,
why not you.

  2. Cool. Like when I worked with a street mission, the best addictions counsellors are 'ex' addicts.
