If it helps, then huzzah! i seem to find the things that help me to grow as a writer by sharing with other writers/bloggers.Here, There be a Writerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12181791525156482545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7821951643796229340.post-36415406408449476842015-08-17T18:32:49.232-07:002015-08-17T18:32:49.232-07:00Learning the fine art of editing is like meditatin...Learning the fine art of editing is like meditating or praying, you only can know what works for you. So, I keep trying, experiment with something new, ditch what isn't working. I appreciate the input tho Chris. Then edit chapter by chapter using the notes I made and inputting any changes suggested by my trusty critique partners. Revision can be frustrating, but also exciting in its own way. I feel like I'm peeling away the layers and deepening the story. By this point I know the basic plot, so I'm just focused on getting to know my characters even better, answering world-building questions...just in general digging deeper. Good luck with your revisions! I highly recommend James Scott Bell's "Revision and Self-Editing." It's a great resource.

Have a great weekend! :)Denise D. I have no editing tips, but like the idea of reading it and taking notes. I am totally stealing that. You had ...Glad that you have had a productive week. You had asked about how others edit. I am very bad at that. I read through my writing and can fix all of the grammar and sentence structure, things like that, but I have such a hard time chancing scenes overall - cutting them out completing, adding new scenes, changing the point of view. It makes total sense to me when someone else does it for me, but I just can't seem to figure it out on my own. Which is no help to anyone, just a confession of my own faults.

Have a great week. Chris Loehmer Kincaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831717125652627898noreply@blogger.com
